These terms cover Aurabill: Subscription Tracker (“Aurabill”, “the app”) and the website at aurabill.app. They are a contract between you and [TODO — legal entity name] (“we”, “us”), the developer of Aurabill.
Aurabill is not on the App Store yet. When it is published, downloading or using it means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
The short version
Aurabill is a tracker. It shows you what you pay and points you at the door. It does not cancel anything for you, it never touches your bank, and it does not give financial advice. Your data stays on your iPhone. Apple licenses the app to you under its standard end user license agreement, handles every payment, and handles every refund. The sections below say all of that properly.
1. Your license comes from Apple’s standard EULA
Aurabill is distributed only through the Apple App Store. Your license to use it is Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, known as the standard EULA:
https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
In plain terms, that agreement says: the app is licensed to you, not sold; the license is personal, non-transferable and limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control; you may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app; Apple, not us, runs the store you got it from; and Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app itself.
These Terms of Use sit on top of that license and add the parts specific to Aurabill: what the app does, how purchases work, and where our responsibility ends. Nothing here is meant to contradict Apple’s terms. If anything in this document conflicts with Apple’s standard EULA or the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, Apple’s terms govern, and the conflicting part of this document does not apply.
Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
2. What Aurabill is
Aurabill is an informational and organizational tool. You tell it what you are subscribed to, by typing it in or by importing rows from screenshots of your Apple subscriptions list. It then shows you totals, a twelve-month renewal calendar, and local reminders before charges land. When you want out of a subscription, it gives you one tap to your Apple subscriptions list, where you tap the service to cancel, and for some services it opens that company’s own cancellation page in Safari.
3. What Aurabill is not
This section matters, so it is blunt.
- Aurabill does not cancel subscriptions for you. It shows you where to cancel and opens the page. The cancellation itself is an action you take, with Apple or with the merchant.
- Aurabill does not contact merchants on your behalf. It sends no emails, files no forms, makes no calls.
- Aurabill does not connect to your bank, card, or any financial account. There is no bank login in the app, and there never will be.
- Aurabill does not negotiate bills or claim to lower what you pay.
- Aurabill is not financial, tax, or legal advice. The numbers it shows are calculated from what you entered, at exchange rates bundled with the app version you are running. Decisions about your money are yours.
- Aurabill is not a system of record. It is a convenience view of information you supplied. Your bank statements, your Apple purchase history and the merchants themselves are authoritative. Aurabill is not.
4. Cancellation information is best-effort
Cancel links, service names, typical prices and any cancellation instructions in the app are information about third parties that we researched and bundled with the app. Those third parties change their prices, their web addresses and their cancellation processes whenever they like, without telling us. Content in the app is accurate as of the date shown next to it, and no later than the version of the app you have installed.
You are responsible for confirming that a cancellation actually happened. Check for a confirmation email, check your Apple subscriptions list, check your next statement. Aurabill marking something as cancelled is a note you made in your own tracker, not proof that the merchant stopped billing you.
We stand behind the app working as described. We cannot stand behind another company’s website behaving the way it did last month.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Aurabill is free to download and free to use. The free version tracks up to 5 active subscriptions and includes reminders, spending totals, the one-tap link to your Apple subscriptions list, and direct cancel links. Aurabill Plus is an optional paid upgrade that unlocks additional features.
Aurabill Plus is not available for purchase yet. The terms in this section apply from the moment it is offered.
5.1 The two ways to buy
| Plan | Price | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Aurabill Plus, yearly | $11.99 per year | Auto-renewing subscription |
| Aurabill Plus, lifetime | $24.99 | One-time purchase, does not renew |
Prices are in US dollars and apply to the US storefront. Prices in other countries are set per storefront and may differ once local taxes and currency conversion are applied. The exact price you pay is always the one shown in the App Store purchase sheet before you confirm.
5.2 Auto-renewing subscription terms
For the $11.99 per year plan:
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at $11.99 per year, unless the price has changed and you have been notified and, where required, have consented.
- You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Your Apple subscriptions list is at https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions, and Aurabill has a button that opens it.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. The current paid period is not cancelled and is not pro-rated; you keep Aurabill Plus until that period ends.
- We do not offer a free trial of Aurabill Plus. If we ever do, any unused portion of a free period is forfeited when you buy a subscription, as Apple’s terms require.
5.3 Lifetime purchase
The $24.99 lifetime option is a one-time purchase. It does not renew, and there is nothing to cancel. It unlocks the Aurabill Plus features on your Apple Account for as long as we publish the app. It is not a promise that we will publish Aurabill forever, and it does not automatically include products we may release separately in the future. If we ever remove a significant Plus feature you paid for, we will say so plainly in the app.
5.4 Family Sharing
Family Sharing is enabled for both Aurabill Plus purchases. If you are in an Apple Family Sharing group, the other members can use Aurabill Plus without buying it again. Family Sharing is Apple’s feature and is governed by Apple’s rules, including how a group is formed and what happens when someone leaves it. Each person’s subscription data stays on their own device; sharing the purchase does not share your list.
5.5 Restoring a purchase
If you reinstall Aurabill or set up a new iPhone, use Restore Purchases in the app. It asks Apple what you own. If you are signed in with the Apple Account that made the purchase, your Plus features come back.
5.6 Refunds are handled by Apple
We cannot issue refunds. We never receive your payment, your card details, or the ability to reverse a charge. Apple is the merchant of record for every Aurabill purchase.
To request a refund, go to https://reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account. Apple decides each request case by case, on its own timeline and under its own policy. Two things worth knowing: asking for a refund is not the same as cancelling, so cancel separately if that is what you want; and your statutory consumer rights, including any right of withdrawal in your country, apply on top of Apple’s process and are not reduced by this document.
If you think something went wrong on our side, write to hello@aurabill.app and we will help you sort out what happened. We just cannot be the ones to move the money.
6. Third-party services and trademarks
Aurabill mentions the names of streaming services, gyms, software vendors and other subscription businesses so you can recognize your own subscriptions. Those names and marks belong to their owners. We use them nominatively, which means only to identify the service being referred to.
No affiliation, sponsorship, partnership or endorsement is claimed or implied, in either direction. Apple is a trademark of Apple Inc. The app deliberately ships no third-party logos.
Links out of the app open in Safari and take you to a site we do not control. What happens there is between you and that company, under their terms and their privacy policy.
7. Acceptable use
Use Aurabill for your own subscriptions, lawfully. Do not:
- break, bypass or tamper with the app, including its purchase checks;
- decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where law expressly permits it despite a contractual ban;
- redistribute, resell, rent or sublicense the app or its bundled content;
- scrape or bulk-extract the service catalog, cancellation information or other bundled content for a competing product;
- use the app to break the law or another person’s rights.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its source code, design, wordmark, icon, and the content we wrote and bundled with it, including the service catalog and any cancellation guidance, are ours or our licensors’, and are protected by copyright and other laws. These terms give you the license described in section 1 and nothing more.
Your own data is yours. The subscriptions you enter, your notes and your categories belong to you. They sit on your device. We claim no rights in them, and we could not use them if we wanted to, because we never receive them. See the Privacy Policy for how that works.
9. Your data is on your device
Aurabill keeps your list on your iPhone. It has no server and no account. That is the point of the product, and it has one practical consequence you should plan for: if you delete the app or lose the device without a backup, your list is gone, and we cannot recover it, because we never had a copy. Keeping a device backup is your call and your responsibility.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Aurabill is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that reminders will always be delivered by the operating system, that imported data will be complete or correctly read, or that third-party cancellation information will still be current when you use it.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Where you are a consumer, your statutory rights stand and this section does not limit them.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or charges you continued to incur because a cancellation did not go through.
Our total liability for all claims relating to Aurabill is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Aurabill in the twelve months before the claim or US$25.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you. If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection, those protections apply regardless of what this section says.
As set out in Apple’s standard EULA, Apple’s maximum liability to you for the app is the amount you paid for it, and any claim that the app fails to conform to a warranty is directed to Apple in the first instance.
12. Indemnity
If you use Aurabill in a way that breaks these terms or the law, and someone brings a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses arising directly from that claim. This applies only to claims caused by your own unlawful use or your breach of these terms. It does not apply to anything caused by us, and it does not apply to ordinary use of the app.
We will tell you promptly about any such claim, let you take part in the defense, and will not settle it in a way that binds you without your agreement.
13. Termination
You can end this agreement at any time by deleting the app. If you have an active Aurabill Plus subscription, delete the app and also turn off auto-renewal in your Apple Account settings, because deleting an app does not cancel a subscription.
We may suspend or end your license if you materially breach these terms, in particular section 7. We may also stop publishing or supporting Aurabill. If that happens we will say so on aurabill.app and in the app where we can. Sections 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 15 and 16 survive termination.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the app changes or the law does. The date at the top always shows the current version. Material changes will be flagged on this page and, where they affect a purchase, in the app before you buy. Continuing to use Aurabill after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the app; if a change materially reduces something you paid for, ask Apple for a refund using the process in section 5.6.
15. Severability
If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, that part is limited or removed to the minimum extent needed, and the rest stays in force.
16. Governing law
TODO — governing law and venue not yet set. This section must name the governing law and the courts or dispute process before the site goes live. Do not publish a jurisdiction that has not been confirmed with the company’s actual place of establishment. Note that Apple’s standard EULA and the Apple Media Services Terms carry their own governing-law provisions for the license itself, and that mandatory consumer protection law in the user’s country of residence will apply regardless of what is chosen here.
17. Contact
TODO — legal entity name
TODO — registered address
TODO — company registration number, if the entity has one
