Quick answer
- Go to bark.co/account and sign in.
- On your account dashboard, find your BarkBox subscription.
- Turn off auto-renewal. On a monthly plan, cancel the subscription there or ask the Happy Team.
Your plan ends when your current term ends. A monthly plan stops after the box you've paid for. On a 6- or 12-month plan, you still pay for and get the rest of the term. BARK's terms say it doesn't have to refund what you've already paid. BARK bills you itself, even if you signed up in the BARK app.
| Cancel online | Yes, at bark.co/account |

| Free trial | Not offered. The first box is charged when you sign up |

Fee warning
On a 6- or 12-month plan, cancelling doesn't stop the charges early. BARK's terms say you pay for the rest of the term. To stop the plan renewing for another term of the same length, cancel before the 1st of the month after your term ends.
First, find out who bills you
BARK bills BarkBox itself, so you cancel with BARK whichever device you signed up on.
Fastest check: Sign in at bark.co/account. Your dashboard lists each BARK subscription with its own billing details.
| What you see | Who bills you | Go to |
|---|---|---|
| A BARK charge on your card or PayPal | BARK | Cancel in your BARK account |
| You signed up in the BARK app | BARK | Cancel in your BARK account |
| You're on a 6- or 12-month plan and want it to end early | BARK | Cancel through the Happy Team |
| You want a break, not a cancellation | BARK | Skip a month instead of cancelling |
Cancel in your BARK account
BarkBox is managed at bark.co. This works in any browser, on a computer or on your phone.
- Go to bark.co/account and sign in.
- On your account dashboard, find your BarkBox subscription.
- Turn off auto-renewal. On a monthly plan, cancel the subscription there.
Done when: Your BARK account shows that auto-renewal is off or that the subscription is cancelled. If you can't tell, ask the Happy Team to confirm it in writing.
- BARK's help pages don't name the buttons. If you can't find the setting, contact the Happy Team.
- You can turn off auto-renewal at any time during your term. Do it early: BARK's terms say a request after the 1st of the month following the end of your term applies to the next term.
- On a 6- or 12-month plan, this stops the next term only. You still get, and pay for, the boxes left in your current term.
- If you have more than one BARK subscription, such as BarkBox and Super Chewer, turn off auto-renewal for each one.
- BARK's subscriptions policy says your order confirmation emails link to your order, where you can manage your subscription.
- Can't sign in? BARK says you may have signed up under a different BARK login. The Happy Team can help.
Cancel through the Happy Team
BARK's support team, the Happy Team, can turn off renewal for you. It's also the only route BARK names for asking to end a 6- or 12-month plan early.
- Open bark.co/pages/contact and select Chat with us. You can also text 1-202-846-2275, email happyteam@bark.co or get support in the BARK app.
- Say: "I want to cancel my BarkBox subscription and turn off auto-renewal. Please confirm the date of my last box and my last charge."
- Save the chat transcript, text messages or email reply, with the date.
Done when: The Happy Team confirms in writing that auto-renewal is off and tells you when your last box ships and your last charge is.
- If you want a 6- or 12-month plan to end early, ask here. BARK's FAQ says the cancellation still takes effect at the end of your current term.
- BARK doesn't publish a phone number for cancelling. Use chat, text or email.
Skip a month instead of cancelling
BARK's help pages don't describe a skip or pause button in your account. Its FAQ says to contact the Happy Team to ask what's possible for your plan.
A skipped month isn't a cancellation. If you want the subscription to end, turn off auto-renewal as well.
What happens after you cancel
- Access: Boxes you've already paid for still ship. On a 6- or 12-month plan, boxes and charges continue until the term ends. Then the subscription stops.
- Your data: BARK's privacy policy says closing your account doesn't delete your account information. To ask for deletion, use privacy.bark.co or call 1-833-227-5686. Your rights depend on the state you live in.
- Rejoining: Sign in at bark.co and add a new subscription. BARK can change prices at any time, so check the current price before you rejoin.
How to check it worked
- Sign in at bark.co/account and check that auto-renewal is off, or the subscription is cancelled, for every BARK subscription you have.
- Keep BARK's confirmation, chat transcript or email reply, with the date.
- Note the date of your last box. After it, check your next card or PayPal statement for a new BARK charge.
Getting a refund
- Billed by BARK: BARK's terms say it doesn't have to refund amounts already paid, and it gives no refunds when a price drops. Items from your BarkBox can't be returned or exchanged.
- A problem with a box: BARK's refund policy says BarkBox and Super Chewer boxes come with a satisfaction guarantee: if something in your box isn't working for your dog, contact the Happy Team at bark.co/pages/contact and they'll work with you to make it right. BARK's terms limit the remedy to a replacement or a credit toward another box, where the law allows. Report a missing or damaged order within 30 days of purchase.
- Charged after you cancelled: On a 6- or 12-month plan, charges continue until the term ends. If a charge comes after that, or after your monthly plan ended, contact the Happy Team and ask for the charge to be reviewed.
Refund rules differ by country and by provider.
Questions people ask
Does turning off auto-renewal end my 6- or 12-month plan?
No. It stops the plan from renewing. BARK's terms say you're still charged, and still get boxes, until the current term ends.
Can I end a 6- or 12-month plan early?
You can ask the Happy Team. BARK's FAQ says that even then, your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current term.
What's the deadline to stop the next term?
Cancel before the 1st of the month after your term ends. BARK's terms say later requests apply to the next term, which is as long as the one that just ended.
Can I cancel in the BARK app?
BARK doesn't publish steps for cancelling in the app. Its App Store listing says you can manage your subscription and get support in the app. If you can't find where to cancel there, sign in at bark.co/account in your phone's browser.
Can I send back a box I didn't want?
No. BARK doesn't take returns or exchanges and asks you to give unwanted items to another dog or a shelter. If something doesn't work for your dog, tell the Happy Team.
Can I skip a month instead?
BARK's FAQ doesn't describe a skip button. Ask the Happy Team what options your plan has.
