Fee warning
Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date, or SiriusXM can charge you for another billing period. Some offers, including some plans sold with a radio, carry a cancellation or early-termination fee listed in that offer's details. Returning a radio doesn't cancel its plan.
First, find out who bills you
Where you listen doesn't decide how you cancel. The company that charges you does.
Fastest check: Look at your card or bank statement, as SiriusXM suggests. A charge from SiriusXM, or a plan in the Subscriptions tab of your Online Account Center, means you cancel with SiriusXM. If you subscribed in the SiriusXM app or added it to a phone plan, the app store, Roku or T-Mobile bills you.
| What you see | Who bills you | Go to |
|---|---|---|
| A SiriusXM charge on your card or bank statement | SiriusXM | Cancel on the SiriusXM website |
| A charge from APPLE.COM/BILL after you subscribed in the SiriusXM app on an iPhone or iPad | Apple | Billed by Apple |
| A SiriusXM charge on a Google Play receipt, after you subscribed on Android or Android TV | Google Play | Billed by Google Play |
| A Roku charge after you subscribed in the SiriusXM app on a Roku device | Roku | Billed by Roku |
| SiriusXM listed as an add-on on your T-Mobile bill | T-Mobile | Billed by T-Mobile |
| SiriusXM in more than one car, or on more than one radio | SiriusXM, for each radio separately | More than one radio or plan |
| A trial or plan that came with a car you bought or leased | Nobody. It doesn't renew | Free trial |
| SiriusXM in a bundle on another company's bill | That company | More than one radio or plan |
Cancel on the SiriusXM website
If SiriusXM bills you, start here. It works in any browser, on a computer or a phone.
- Sign in to the Online Account Center. First time? Register with your Radio ID or account number.
- Open the Subscriptions tab.
- Find the radio or plan you want to end, select Manage and follow the steps to cancel.
- Repeat for every radio or plan you want to end. Cancelling one doesn't cancel the others.
Done when: Each plan you cancelled shows the date its service ends in the Subscriptions tab, and you've saved any confirmation SiriusXM gives you.
- If the Subscriptions tab doesn't let you cancel your plan, use chat or phone. SiriusXM's customer agreement says every plan bought directly from it can be cancelled that way.
- Forgot your login? Recover it at siriusxm.com/forgot.
- Deleting the app, selling your car or not listening doesn't cancel anything.
Cancel by chat
SiriusXM's chat is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Have your account number or Radio ID ready.
- Open siriusxm.com/contact-us and select Chat now.
- Write: "I want to cancel my SiriusXM subscription. Please give me a confirmation number."
- Save a copy or screenshot of the chat with the confirmation number and end date.
Done when: The agent confirms the cancellation and tells you the date your service ends.
- If chat won't open, turn off your ad blocker or try another browser.
- SiriusXM's privacy policy says its chat may be answered by an AI assistant.
- Name every radio or plan you want to cancel. Cancelling one doesn't cancel the others.
Cancel by phone
SiriusXM's customer agreement gives this number for cancelling audio and infotainment plans.
- Have your account number or Radio ID (also called ESN or RID) ready.
- Call 1-866-635-2349, every day, 8 am to 8 pm Eastern Time.
- Say: "I want to cancel my SiriusXM subscription. Please give me a confirmation number."
- Write down the date, the agent's name and the confirmation number.
Done when: The agent tells you the date your service ends and gives you a confirmation number.
- SiriusXM's cancellation help page lists 1-866-635-8641, and its Contact Us page lists 1-800-689-6881. The Contact Us page gives the call center hours as every day, 8 am to 8 pm Eastern Time.
- The cancellation help page lists 1-888-635-8641 for T-Mobile and Sprint customers whom SiriusXM bills directly.
- Marine and aviation plans: call 1-800-985-9200, every day, 8 am to 8 pm Eastern Time.
- If you have more than one radio or plan, name each one you want to cancel.
Billed by Apple
If you subscribed in the SiriusXM app on an iPhone or iPad, Apple bills you and you cancel with Apple.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open your Apple subscriptions.
- Tap SiriusXM.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
Done when: SiriusXM in your Apple subscriptions shows an end date instead of a renewal date.
- The same link works on a Mac, where it opens your subscriptions in the App Store.
- No Cancel Subscription button means it's already cancelled.
- SiriusXM says to cancel more than 24 hours before the renewal date, or it may renew. You keep listening until the billing period ends.
- Deleting the SiriusXM app doesn't cancel the subscription.
- If you also signed up directly with SiriusXM, cancel the Apple subscription too, or you can be charged twice.
Billed by Google Play
If you subscribed in the SiriusXM app on an Android phone or Android TV, Google Play bills you.
- Open the Play Store and tap your profile icon.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Tap SiriusXM.
- Tap Cancel subscription.
Done when: Google Play shows the date the subscription ends.
- On a computer, open play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions and sign in with the Google account that paid.
- SiriusXM says to cancel more than 24 hours before the renewal date, or it may renew. You keep listening until the billing period ends.
- Uninstalling the SiriusXM app doesn't cancel the subscription.
Billed by Roku
If you subscribed in the SiriusXM app on a Roku device, Roku bills you. You can't cancel inside the SiriusXM app.
- On a computer or phone, go to my.roku.com/subscriptions and sign in to your Roku account.
- Under Active subscriptions, select SiriusXM.
- Select Manage subscription, then Turn off auto-renew.
Done when: Roku shows that your SiriusXM subscription won't renew.
- On the Roku device itself: press Home, highlight the SiriusXM app, press the Star button, then select Manage subscription and Turn off auto-renew.
- You keep access until your current Roku billing period ends.
Billed by T-Mobile
If you added SiriusXM All Access (App Only) to a T-Mobile postpaid plan, remove it from your T-Mobile account.
- Sign in at t-mobile.com with your T-Mobile ID.
- In the Your plan box, select Manage add-ons and benefits.
- Select Account, then the phone number the subscription is on.
- Deselect the SiriusXM feature under Account-level services, agree to removing it and select Continue.
- On the Review your order page, select Agree & Submit.
Done when: Your T-Mobile account no longer lists the SiriusXM add-on.
- In the T-Life app, tap Account, then See plans. Tap Plan details, then Manage add-ons. Deselect SiriusXM, tap Continue, then tap Agree & submit.
- Remove it during the 6-month On Us period and you keep listening until that period ends. Remove the paid add-on and access stops right away.
- Need help? Dial 611 from your T-Mobile phone or call 1-800-937-8997.
- If SiriusXM bills you directly, for example after you signed up through a T-Mobile offer link, cancel on the SiriusXM website instead.
- Closing your T-Mobile account during the On Us period ends your SiriusXM subscription right away.
More than one radio or plan
Each radio or plan on your account is its own subscription. Cancelling one doesn't cancel the others, so name every one you want to end, or cancel each in the Subscriptions tab.
Extra radios on one account can get a lower rate only while at least one full-price plan stays active. SiriusXM says changing the number of subscriptions can change what you pay for the rest.
A SiriusXM subscription through Apple, Google Play, Roku or T-Mobile is separate from one billed by SiriusXM, and adding one doesn't cancel the other. Cancel each with the company that bills it.
If another company bills you for a bundle that includes SiriusXM, cancel with that company.
Pause instead of cancelling
If SiriusXM bills you for a paid plan, you can suspend it once per calendar year for up to six months. You get no service and pay nothing while it's suspended, and there's no fee to restart within the six months.
Service restarts on the date you chose or after six months, whichever comes first. A suspension doesn't move the end date of a promotional price, and it isn't available on app-only plans.
You can't suspend online. Call 1-866-635-8642.
Free trial
A trial or other plan that comes with a car you buy or lease doesn't renew. It stops at the end of its term, or when you sell or transfer the car, so there's nothing to cancel. It can't be refunded or moved to another car. If you bought it through an automaker or dealer, that company's terms of sale also apply. If you return or sell the car before the trial ends, SiriusXM asks you to contact it to update your account.
The free 3-month Platinum trial at siriusxm.com/free-trial needs no credit card and stops on its own. The free 3-month All Access (App Only) trial needs a card and renews every month at the regular price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
Introductory prices, such as 3 months for $1, also renew at the regular price when they end. Cancelling during a free trial may end it right away. Your trial's end date is in the Subscriptions tab of the Online Account Center.
What SiriusXM shows you before you leave
SiriusXM doesn't publish a cancellation offer. Its customer agreement says any discount or credit it gives is at its own discretion.
If you hear an offer you don't want, say no and repeat that you want to cancel today. If you want to consider it, ask for the price, how long it lasts and what it renews at, and get it in writing.
What happens after you cancel
- Access: Audio plans keep working until the end of your current billing period. If you cancel inside the 7-day or 30-day refund window, the plan ends right away instead. Marine, aviation and infotainment plans end on the day SiriusXM gets your request, unless your offer says otherwise.
- Your radio: SiriusXM may switch your car radio to its free, ad-supported Free Access Plan after a paid plan or trial ends. If it's already on, cancel it by chat or phone like any other plan. To stop SiriusXM from turning it on later, mail a letter to Sirius XM Care, PO Box 33174, Detroit, MI 48232, Attention: No Free Access Subscription, with your name, email address, postal address and Radio ID.
- Your data: SiriusXM keeps personal data as long as it considers reasonably necessary and doesn't give a fixed period. If your state's privacy law lets you ask for deletion, cancel first, then use siriusxm.com/yourprivacychoices or call 1-800-869-5593. Some records are kept where the law requires or allows it.
- Rejoining: Sign in to the Online Account Center and choose a plan. SiriusXM may charge an activation fee to reactivate a radio.
How to check it worked
- Sign in to the Online Account Center and open the Subscriptions tab. Each plan you cancelled should show an end date, not a renewal date.
- Keep the confirmation number, chat copy or email for each plan you cancelled.
- If Apple, Google Play, Roku or T-Mobile billed you, check that company's subscription list too.
- Check your next card statement for a new SiriusXM charge. If one appears, contact SiriusXM by chat or phone within 30 days of it.
Getting a refund
- Monthly plans billed by SiriusXM: Cancel within 7 days of the start of your subscription and ask for a refund: the plan ends right away and you can get a prorated refund. Monthly renewals aren't refundable.
- Quarterly, semi-annual or annual plans: Cancel within 30 days of the start or of any renewal charge and ask: the plan ends right away and you can get a prorated refund. After 30 days, nothing is refunded.
- Marine, aviation and infotainment plans: SiriusXM refunds prepaid amounts pro rata, less any fees, unless your offer says otherwise. Car trials and lifetime plans aren't refundable.
- Billed by Apple: Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides, not SiriusXM.
- Billed by Google Play, Roku or T-Mobile: Their refund rules apply, not SiriusXM's. Within 48 hours of a purchase, you may be able to request a refund on Google Play. After that, Google says to contact the developer, SiriusXM. Roku says it doesn't refund partial terms.
If you were billed through the App Store, Apple decides eligibility case by case. Refund rules differ by country and by provider.
Questions people ask
Can I cancel SiriusXM online?
Yes, if SiriusXM bills you: use the Subscriptions tab in the Online Account Center, or chat at siriusxm.com/contact-us at any hour. If Apple, Google Play, Roku or T-Mobile bills you, cancel with them.
Will I get money back for the rest of the month?
Usually not. Audio plans run to the end of the paid period. The exceptions: cancel a new monthly plan within 7 days, or a longer plan within 30 days of a charge, and ask for a prorated refund. Rules can differ where state law requires.
Does selling my car cancel SiriusXM?
No. Selling, trading in or losing a car doesn't cancel a paid plan. Cancel it, or move it to another radio with SiriusXM's transfer steps. Some plans can't be moved, and a transfer fee may apply. A trial that came with the car ends when you sell it.
Why am I still charged after cancelling?
You may have more than one subscription: another radio, an app subscription through Apple or Google Play, a Roku subscription or a T-Mobile add-on. Each is cancelled separately. A cancellation less than 24 hours before renewal can also miss that charge. If SiriusXM bills you directly and you think a charge is wrong, contact it by chat or phone within 30 days of the charge. Its customer agreement says you give up your right to dispute the charge after that.
Why does my radio still play SiriusXM after I cancelled?
SiriusXM may have put the radio on its free, ad-supported Free Access Plan. It costs nothing. To end it now, cancel it by chat or phone like any other plan. To stop SiriusXM from turning it on again later, send the letter described under What happens after you cancel.
How do I cancel SiriusXM Podcasts+?
It's a separate subscription. If you bought it in Apple Podcasts, cancel it in your Apple subscriptions. If you bought it from SiriusXM through Supporting Cast, cancel at siriusxm.supportingcast.fm/account.
Can a cancellation service cancel for me?
SiriusXM says it may deal only with the account holder, won't engage with bots or AI tools that third parties use, and may ask you for written proof before talking to anyone on your behalf. Cancelling yourself is the surest route.
