Quick answer
- Open cmx.weightwatchers.com/cancellation and sign in.
- Select the option to cancel your membership, not to switch plans, and finish the cancellation.
- Save the confirmation and check the date your membership ends.
A monthly plan runs to the end of the membership month. On a 6- or 12-month commitment you keep paying monthly until the term ends, and a prepaid plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. There are no refunds once a period starts, with a few exceptions. If Apple or Google Play bills you, cancel with them instead.

Fee warning
Many WeightWatchers plans come with a 6- or 12-month commitment. Cancelling partway doesn't stop the monthly payments: you pay each month until the commitment ends. Many of these plans also renew for another full term unless you cancel before the new term starts. Prepaid plans, such as 3-month plans paid upfront, can also renew for another full term and charge the whole price again. Fees aren't refunded once a period has started, so cancel before your term's end date.
First, find out who bills you
The device you use doesn't decide how you cancel. The company that charges you does.
Fastest check: Look at the charge on your card statement or receipt. A WeightWatchers charge means WeightWatchers bills you, and an Apple or Google Play receipt means the app store does. Signed in at cmx.weightwatchers.com/settings, WeightWatchers shows your plan and your next billing date.
| What you see | Who bills you | Go to |
|---|---|---|
| A WeightWatchers charge on your card statement | WeightWatchers | Cancel on the WeightWatchers website |
| You're on Med+ or another Weight Watchers Clinic plan | WeightWatchers, under its Clinic agreement | Cancel on the WeightWatchers website |
| You got WeightWatchers through your employer, health plan or Sam's Club | WeightWatchers, at your organization's or Sam's Club price | Cancel on the WeightWatchers website |
| A charge from APPLE.COM/BILL, with an Apple receipt for WeightWatchers | Apple | Billed by Apple |
| A WeightWatchers charge on a Google Play receipt | Google Play | Billed by Google Play |

Cancel on the WeightWatchers website
If WeightWatchers bills you directly, this works in any browser, on a computer or on your phone.
- Open cmx.weightwatchers.com/cancellation and sign in.
- Select the option to cancel your membership, not to switch plans.
- Finish the cancellation and save the confirmation.
Done when: WeightWatchers confirms that your membership is cancelled.
- When it ends depends on your plan: a monthly plan at the end of the membership month you cancel in, a commitment plan at the end of its commitment, and a prepaid plan at the end of the period you paid for.
- WeightWatchers aims to process cancellations within 72 hours, so don't leave it to the day before a renewal.
- Med+ and other Clinic memberships fall under the Weight Watchers Clinic agreement, which also lets you cancel by messaging your Care Team or by emailing hello@joinsequence.com.
- If you joined through your employer or health plan, WeightWatchers may move you to its standard monthly rate when you leave that employer or plan, or when the plan's agreement with WeightWatchers ends.
- Deleting the app doesn't cancel anything. Your membership keeps billing until you cancel it.
Cancel by phone or chat
WeightWatchers Customer Service can cancel your membership and tell you when your plan ends.
- Call 1-800-651-6000, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm Eastern Time.
- Say: "I want to cancel my WeightWatchers membership. Please tell me the date it ends and give me a confirmation number."
- Ask whether any monthly payments are still due on your commitment.
- Write down the date, the agent's name and the confirmation number.
Done when: The agent confirms the cancellation and tells you the date your membership ends.
- WeightWatchers says its 24/7 Chat Support can help with membership questions, including cancellations. Sign in on the website and select 24/7 Support.
- WeightWatchers says it no longer offers email support. The Clinic agreement still lists hello@joinsequence.com for Med+ and other Clinic members.
Billed by Apple
If you joined in the WeightWatchers app on an iPhone or iPad and paid through Apple, only Apple can cancel it. WeightWatchers can't cancel or refund it on its website.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open your Apple subscriptions.
- Tap the WeightWatchers subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
Done when: The WeightWatchers subscription in your Apple subscriptions shows an end date instead of a renewal date.
- The same link works on a Mac, where it opens your subscriptions in the App Store.
- No Cancel Subscription button means it's already cancelled.
- WeightWatchers not in the list? Check the receipt email to see which Apple Account paid. If your card statement shows WeightWatchers rather than Apple, cancel on the WeightWatchers website instead.
Billed by Google Play
WeightWatchers says it can't cancel or refund memberships bought through Google Play. Cancel them in Google Play.
- Open the Play Store and tap your profile icon.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Tap the WeightWatchers subscription.
- Tap Cancel subscription.
Done when: Google Play shows the date the subscription ends.
- On a computer, open play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions and sign in with the Google account that paid.
- Uninstalling the app doesn't cancel the subscription.
Can you pause WeightWatchers?
WeightWatchers doesn't describe a way to pause your membership or its charges, either on its cancellation page or in its membership agreement.
The app's Vacation Mode is a tracking feature. For up to 14 days it swaps your Points Budget for a paused ring and keeps your streaks. WeightWatchers doesn't say it changes your billing.
Free trial
Some WeightWatchers promotions include a free trial. On its 30-day trial offer, the membership moves to the standard monthly rate unless you cancel before the trial ends, at midnight Eastern Time on day 30. The terms of your own offer give your cutoff.
Sam's Club Plus members who are new to Core get 3 months of Core free. After that, the plan renews at $10 a month until you cancel.
If you started the trial in the app and Apple bills you, Apple asks you to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
What WeightWatchers shows you before you leave
WeightWatchers' cancellation page starts with reasons to stay: 24/7 coaching chat, the Connect community, 5-Minute Coaching sessions and free WeightWatchers 101 sessions. The cancel link also lets you switch to another plan. None of these cancel your membership.
- Switch your membership to another plan: To leave, choose cancel instead. Before you accept a new plan, check its commitment and renewal terms.
- Chat with a coach instead: Coaching doesn't stop your payments. Keep going with the cancellation.
What happens after you cancel
- Access: Your membership runs until the cancellation takes effect: the end of the membership month on a monthly plan, or the end of the commitment or prepaid period on a longer plan. Check the date in your confirmation.
- Your data: WeightWatchers doesn't say how long it keeps your history after you cancel. To have your personal information deleted, use Account Settings, email privacy@ww.com or call 1-800-651-6000. WeightWatchers keeps some records where the law requires it. Med+ and other Clinic health records fall under the Clinic's Notice of Privacy Practices instead. Ask hello@joinsequence.com for a copy or a correction.
- Rejoining: Sign up again at weightwatchers.com/us/plans. Check the commitment and renewal terms of the new plan before you join.
How to check it worked
- Save the cancellation confirmation and the date your membership ends.
- Sign in at cmx.weightwatchers.com/settings and check your plan and next billing date.
- On a commitment plan, expect monthly charges until the term ends. Check that none arrive after it.
- If Apple or Google Play billed you, check that the subscription shows an end date there.
Getting a refund
- Billed by WeightWatchers: Fees aren't refunded once a billing or commitment period has started. The membership agreement refunds the unused part of a paid period, minus any fixed upfront fee, if you cancel for a medical reason, or if you move more than 15 miles from a Workshop or your Workshop closes and there's no other Workshop within 5 miles of your new home or of the closed Workshop. WeightWatchers may charge a fee for administrative or other services you used before cancelling. Some states add refunds after death or total and permanent disability.
- Charged after you cancelled: If you cancelled near the end of a period and were charged for the next one, call Customer Service at 1-800-651-6000 to have it reversed. If you use WeightWatchers during that new period, you lose the refund.
- Just joined: In many states you can cancel within a few business days after you join and get your money back, sometimes minus a fee or the value of services you used. Rules differ by state, and some apply only to memberships that include Workshops. The state sections of the membership agreement list your deadline and how to give notice: usually in writing to WW International, Inc., 18 West 18th Street, New York, NY 10011, Attention: Customer Care, and in most states also by calling 1-800-651-6000.
- Med+ and Clinic plans: The initial consultation fee isn't refundable. The Clinic agreement refunds the unused part of a paid period if you cancel for a medical reason, though WeightWatchers may charge a fee for administrative or other services you used before cancelling. Fees aren't refunded when a prescribed medication is out of stock.
- Billed by Apple: Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides, not WeightWatchers.
- Billed by Google Play: Within 48 hours of a purchase, you may be able to request a refund on Google Play. After that, Google says to contact the developer, WeightWatchers. WeightWatchers says it can't refund memberships bought through Google Play.
If you were billed through the App Store, Apple decides eligibility case by case. Refund rules differ by country and by provider.
Questions people ask
Can I cancel WeightWatchers in the app?
WeightWatchers' agreement says you can cancel in the signed-in part of its website or app. The direct route is cmx.weightwatchers.com/cancellation, which also works in your phone's browser. If you pay through Apple or Google Play, cancel with them instead.
I'm on a 12-month plan. Can I stop paying early?
Usually not. Cancelling during the commitment ends the plan when the term ends, and you keep paying monthly until then unless an exception, such as a medical reason, applies. Cancel before the term ends so it doesn't renew for another 12 months.
Why was I charged after I cancelled?
On a commitment plan, monthly payments run until the term ends. If you were charged for a new period after cancelling near the end of the last one, call 1-800-651-6000 to have it reversed, and don't use WeightWatchers in that period.
How do I cancel Med+?
Med+ falls under the Weight Watchers Clinic agreement. You can cancel in the signed-in part of the website or app, by messaging your Care Team, by emailing hello@joinsequence.com or by calling 1-800-651-6000. Med+ plans come in different lengths, such as 3, 6 or 12 months. Some bill monthly and some charge the whole term upfront, and many renew for another term unless you cancel before it ends. Your plan terms show which one you have.
I'm pregnant. Can I cancel?
Yes. WeightWatchers recommends cancelling if you become pregnant, and says you can cancel at any time during your pregnancy at weightwatchers.com/us/cancellation. Cancellation still takes effect at the end of your billing or commitment period. The agreement doesn't say whether pregnancy counts as a medical reason for a refund, so ask Customer Service.
Does deleting the app cancel my membership?
No. Your membership keeps billing until you cancel it with whoever bills you: WeightWatchers, Apple or Google Play.
