How to cancel Peloton

Quick answer

  1. Go to account.onepeloton.com/mymembership and sign in.
  2. App One or App+: select Cancel membership, pick a reason and confirm.
  3. All-Access: select Manage, then Pause or cancel, and choose to cancel.
  4. Paid through Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku or Verizon? Cancel there instead.

You keep access until your billing period ends, and Peloton doesn't refund the rest of it. A committed term stays payable, and a rented Bike has to be picked up. A prepaid or gift period renews monthly at the regular price unless you cancel before it ends. If a store or Verizon bills you, cancel with them.

Fee warning

If you joined on an offer with a committed membership period, you still owe the fees for the rest of that period after you cancel, even if you pay monthly. Renting a Bike? Peloton needs to collect it within 30 days of cancelling, or the monthly fee keeps running, and damage or missing parts can be charged. After a rental buyout, the All-Access fee continues until you cancel it separately. Paid ahead, or used a gift or promo code? The membership renews monthly at the regular price unless you cancel before the prepaid period ends. Billed by Verizon +play? Cancel at least 2 days before your +play billing cycle ends (it renews on the day you activated Peloton, not on your Verizon bill date), or Verizon charges your card for the next full cycle.

First, find out who bills you

The device you work out on doesn't decide how you cancel. The company that charges you does.

Fastest check: Sign in at account.onepeloton.com/mymembership. Each active membership shows the store where you bought it. If it names Apple, Google Play, Amazon or Roku, cancel there.

Cancel on the Peloton website

Recommended

This works for App One, App+ and All-Access memberships that Peloton bills directly, in any browser on a computer or phone.

  1. Open account.onepeloton.com/mymembership and sign in.
  2. Find the membership you want to end under Memberships.
  3. For App One or App+, select Cancel membership under it, choose a reason from the drop-down menu, then confirm the cancellation.
  4. For All-Access, select Manage next to it, then Pause or cancel, and choose to cancel.
  5. For a Guide Membership, look for a cancel option next to it. If you don't see one, contact Member Support (see Cancel by phone or chat).

Done when: Peloton confirms the cancellation. The membership stays active until the end of the current billing period and then doesn't renew.

  • Deleting your Peloton account doesn't cancel the membership, so cancel first.
  • If you have All-Access and also pay for an App membership, cancel the App membership on its own. All-Access already includes the Peloton App.
  • If Peloton sends you to another platform, the membership was bought there. Use the Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku or Verizon steps below.

Cancel a Peloton Rental

A rental is cancelled by returning the Bike. Peloton picks it up for free.

  1. Open account.onepeloton.com/orderhistory and sign in.
  2. Select Return Items.
  3. Select your rental equipment and continue with the return.
  4. Schedule a pickup within 30 days of cancelling.

Done when: Peloton has a pickup booked for your Bike.

  • You can also start from the My Memberships page: under Manage Subscription, choose Cancel Rental Agreement.
  • Class access ends at the end of the monthly period in which you cancel.
  • If Peloton can't collect the Bike within 30 days and it isn't Peloton's fault, the monthly fee keeps being charged.
  • The frame and screen must be free of stickers, paint, markings, cracks and dents, and the screen must power on. Damage or missing parts may be charged.
  • Rental fees, including the delivery fee, aren't refunded. After cancelling, you can't rent again for 12 months.

Billed by Apple

If you bought App One or App+ in the Peloton app on an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, Apple bills you and only Apple can cancel it.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open your Apple subscriptions.
  2. Tap Peloton.
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription.

Done when: Peloton in your Apple subscriptions shows an end date instead of a renewal date.

  • The same link works on a Mac, where it opens your subscriptions in the App Store.
  • No Cancel Subscription button means it's already cancelled.
  • Peloton can't cancel an Apple subscription for you.
  • A paid Peloton Strength+ membership is separate from the Peloton App. If you bought it in the App Store, cancel it here too.

Billed by Google Play

If you bought App One or App+ in the Peloton app on an Android phone or tablet, or on Android TV, Google Play bills you.

  1. Open the Play Store and tap your profile icon.
  2. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Peloton.
  4. Tap Cancel subscription.

Done when: Google Play shows the date the subscription ends.

  • Make sure the Play Store is signed in to the Google account that pays for Peloton.
  • On a computer, open play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions and sign in with the Google account that paid.
  • A paid Peloton Strength+ membership is separate from the Peloton App. If you bought it on Google Play, cancel it here too.

Billed by Amazon

If you subscribed in the Peloton app on a Fire tablet or through the Amazon Appstore, Amazon bills you.

  1. Go to amazon.com/your-account and sign in with the Amazon account that pays for Peloton.
  2. Under Digital content and devices, select Your Apps.
  3. Under Manage, select Your Subscriptions.
  4. Select Peloton, then cancel it or turn off auto-renewal.

Done when: Amazon lists an end date for your Peloton subscription.

  • On a Fire tablet, tap Apps, then Store. Open the menu, tap Manage Subscriptions, then tap Peloton and cancel.
  • Peloton stays active until the end date Amazon shows.

Billed by Roku

If you subscribed in the Peloton app on a Roku device, Roku bills you.

  1. Go to my.roku.com/subscriptions and sign in.
  2. Under Active subscriptions, select Peloton.
  3. Select Manage subscription, then Turn off auto-renew.

Done when: Your Roku subscriptions show auto-renew turned off for Peloton.

  • On the Roku device: press Home, highlight the Peloton app, press the Star button on your remote, select Manage subscription, then Turn off auto-renew. Enter your Roku PIN if you set one.
  • You keep access until the billing cycle ends. Roku doesn't give partial-term refunds.

Billed by Verizon +play

If you added Peloton through Verizon's +play, Verizon bills you. +play no longer takes new sign-ups, but you can still cancel there.

  1. In a web browser, sign in to My Verizon as the Account Owner or an Account Manager.
  2. From My Verizon Home, go to Account, then +play, and select Manage.
  3. In the Active section, select Manage below Peloton.
  4. Select Cancel subscription, review the details, then select Remove.

Done when: You've selected Remove, and the +play Manage subscriptions section (list or calendar view) shows no further Peloton charge. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.

  • Cancel at least 2 days before your +play billing cycle for Peloton ends, or Verizon charges your card for the next full cycle. The cycle renews on the same day as the day you activated Peloton, not on your Verizon bill date.
  • Once you unsubscribe, you can't subscribe to Peloton through +play again.

Cancel by phone or chat

Peloton Member Support can cancel or change any membership that Peloton bills.

  1. Call 1-866-679-9129 (every day, 6 am to midnight Eastern Time), or select Chat with Support at support.onepeloton.com/s/contact-us.
  2. Say: "I want to cancel my Peloton membership. Please give me a confirmation number."
  3. Write down the date, the agent's name and the confirmation number.

Done when: The agent confirms the cancellation and tells you the date your access ends.

  • Peloton can't cancel a membership that Apple, Google Play or another platform bills. Cancel it there.
  • If you're in a committed period or renting a Bike, ask what you still owe and by when.

Household profiles

An All-Access Membership covers up to 20 profiles at one home address, and a Guide Membership up to 5. App One and App+ are for one person only.

The Membership Holder is the person who activated and pays for the membership. If you only have a profile on someone else's membership, ask them to cancel it. Profiles on it lose class access when the membership ends.

Pause instead of cancelling

You can pause an All-Access Membership for 1, 2 or 3 months. At account.onepeloton.com/mymembership, select Manage next to it, then Pause or cancel. The pause starts at your next billing date. Billing stops during the pause and restarts on its own when it ends.

While paused, you can't take Peloton classes on your equipment or in the Peloton App. You can unpause any time on your Bike, Tread or Row, or on the My Membership page.

A Rental Membership can be paused once every 12 months. Peloton's help doesn't describe a pause for App One or App+.

Free trial

New members can try App One or App+ free for 30 days. A payment method is required, and the membership you chose is charged automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel during the trial.

Cancel the trial where you started it: on the Peloton website, or with Apple, Google Play, Amazon or Roku if you began it in the app on one of their devices.

Peloton Strength+ has its own 14-day free trial. A credit card is required, and in the US the membership costs $9.99 a month after the trial unless you cancel before it ends. If you started it in the App Store or on Google Play, cancel it there.

What Peloton shows you before you leave

When you cancel App One or App+ on the website, Peloton asks for a reason in a drop-down menu before you confirm.

For All-Access, pausing and cancelling share one option, Pause or cancel. Choose to cancel if you want to leave.

  • Pause your All-Access Membership for 1, 2 or 3 months: Choose to cancel instead of pausing, then confirm.

What happens after you cancel

  • Access: You keep access until the end of the billing period you've paid for. After that, the membership doesn't renew.
  • Your equipment: Without a membership, a Bike, Tread or Row still offers Just Ride, Just Run or Just Row and 3 pre-selected classes, but nothing is saved to your profile. The Peloton App has no classes without a membership.
  • Your data: Cancelling doesn't delete your Peloton account. To delete it and your workout history, submit a Deletion/Erasure request at preferences.onepeloton.com. Deletion can take up to 30 days and can't be undone.
  • Rejoining: Reactivate All-Access on your Bike, Tread or Row, or at account.onepeloton.com/mymembership. Rental members who cancel can't rent again for 12 months.

How to check it worked

  1. Open account.onepeloton.com/mymembership and check the status of each membership you cancelled.
  2. If a store billed you, check that Apple, Google Play, Amazon or Roku shows an end date for Peloton. On Verizon +play, check that the Manage subscriptions section shows no further Peloton charge.
  3. Renting? Keep the pickup confirmation and make sure the Bike is collected within 30 days.
  4. Check your next card statement. If Peloton charges you in error, tell Peloton within 60 days of that charge.

Getting a refund

  • Billed by Peloton: Peloton doesn't refund the unused part of a billing period. If you think you were billed in error, contact Member Support within 60 days of the charge. After that, Peloton gives refunds or credits only where the law requires it.
  • New York residents: New York's auto-renewal law lets you cancel within at least 14 days of your first charge at a new, higher price and get a pro rata refund for the unused part.
  • Returning new equipment: A new Bike, Tread or Row can be returned within the 30-day home trial after delivery. Return fees apply, and membership fees aren't refunded.
  • Billed by Apple: Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides, not Peloton.
  • Billed by Google Play, Amazon or Roku: That platform's refund rules apply. Within 48 hours of a purchase, you may be able to request a refund on Google Play. After that, Google says to contact the developer, Peloton. Roku says it gives no partial-term refunds.
  • Billed by Verizon +play: Verizon says +play gives no refunds or credits for partial periods.

If you were billed through the App Store, Apple decides eligibility case by case. Refund rules differ by country and by provider.

Questions people ask

I signed up in the Peloton app. Where do I cancel?

Where you paid. If the app had you pay through Apple, Google Play, Amazon or Roku, cancel with them. If you paid Peloton directly, use account.onepeloton.com/mymembership.

Will I get money back for the rest of the month?

No. You keep access until the period ends, and Peloton doesn't give prorated refunds. Some New York residents have a refund right after a price increase.

Does deleting my Peloton account cancel my membership?

No. Cancel the membership first. Account deletion can take up to 30 days, and you can be charged while it's in progress if the membership is still active.

I have All-Access. Do I also need an App membership?

No. All-Access, Guide and Rental memberships already include the Peloton App. If you still pay for App One or App+, cancel it on its own.

Can I still use my Bike or Tread after cancelling?

Yes, in a limited way. Just Ride, Just Run and Just Row work without a membership, plus 3 pre-selected classes, but no workouts are saved.

I bought out my rental Bike. Why am I still charged?

After a buyout, the All-Access Membership fee continues until you cancel it. Cancel it at account.onepeloton.com/mymembership if you don't want classes.
